Standard Chartered Singapore Marathon 2008: Kids Dash

Not for the first time, D & E participated in a kids dash. This time is a 750 m dash around the Padang, similar to the distance for the Cold Storage Kids Run in June.

Both boys did well. Unfortunately, E took a fall after being pushed by an overly enthusiastic boy. But he wasn't hurt.

Yes, it was a hot morning! They were happy with their medals.

A recent dinner conversation evolved around distances for the deca ironman race. "How far is 38 km of swim? ... 760 laps!"
"How far is 422 km?... 10 marathons?!?"
"And how fare is 1,800 km? ... cycle from Singapore to Bangkok??"

Do you think you can do a kid's triathlon some day? 150m swim, 6 km bike and 1.5 km run? Surprisingly, E replied yes. In about two years' time.

We'll see about that.

8th Birthday Party

Nov 15, 2008

The boys decided to celebrate their 8th birthday with their friends, classmates and cousins, as in the previous year.

For the first time, we had a piƱata - a horse. We stuffed it with sweets, candies and chocolates. It was the highlight of the party.

Video to come....

Temasek Primary School Prize Giving 2008

Nov 14, 2008

Yes, it is that time of the year again - Prize Giving day at TPS. We are really proud that David managed to come in second in his class.

What's perhaps more significant is that David and Ethan will be in the same class next year - 3A. Apparently, TPS grouped the better students into three classes - A, B and C - equally distributed. The other students are also equally distributed among the remaining classes. There are no longer any bottom classes - an experiment that failed since its implementation a few years ago.
